Walk the True South Coast TND
LTD

From the raised beach below the Downs to the shingle where the lagoon meets the sea, TND ADVENTURES LTD leads small groups along tested coast routes. Every day begins at the bunkhouse with a route card, a boot check and a low tide that is on our side. No crowds, no clock-watching, just steady unhurried walking. Choose a one-day route or a gentle weekend and let the shore set the pace. The guiding team reads the tide board each morning, carries a full safety pack on every walk, and keeps the group size small enough that a quiet question or a bird on the water is never left unanswered. Whether you join for a single gentle loop or walk all seven routes in a season, each outing finishes back at the bench with dry boots, fresh cocoa and a route card to keep.

The Lighthouse Lagoon Loop

A flat two-hour wander that stays close to the water so the group can watch waders feed before the tide turns. We set out along the shingle spit, cross the low lagoon channel at the stepping line, and come back on the sheltered path under the grass bank. Good for first walks, calm days and families with younger legs. History of the old lifeboat house sits at the midway picnic point.

The Cliffs, Lancing to Shoreham Fort

A four-mile cliff-top stretch with real ups and downs below the airport, where the footpath holds a grand view of the whole bay. We keep a tight line on the seaward edge, point out the old pier stumps, and end beneath the Napoleonic fort walls. This route is the one local runners train on, but we walk it at a gardener pace with stops for the view each mile.

FULL DAY

The Downs Divider

Six hours that leave the coast entirely and take the chalk ridge north, climbing by the old drove road to a bowl of sheep pasture. We round the rim, duck under a beech hanger for lunch, then descend the long southern slope into the village with its tea rooms. Boots dry on the way home and the day finishes level with the sea again.

The Shingle Return

A family ramble out at first walking light so the shingle is quiet and the sea has the sky to itself. We take the shore route toward the windmill, paddle at the safe shallow corner on mild low tides, and build sand castles nowhere near the water line. Boardwalk gaps are mapped and the turnaround sits at an ice-cream kiosk that opens with the sun.

The Estuary Bends

A mid-distance route that follows the estuary bend through reedbeds, where herons stand at the margins and the path quiets under an old rail bridge. We cross at the footbridge, loop the grazing marsh on a firm track, and join the coast road for the final mile. A steady kit-check route that rewards patient eyes and binoculars (which live in the day pack).

The Beacon Long Run

The longest route on the board, a ten-mile figure of eight that links the cliff route with the downland spine and finishes where it began at the bunkhouse bench. Water points are marked, the halfway break is a real lunch, and the reward for the last stiff climb is a full westward view across the whole county. Groups that take it complete a season of walks in one day.
