You do not need to be a keen hiker to book a place. Groups are kept small so that a leader can read the tide, point out the birds and stay with each walker at a comfortable measure. Kit is checked before we leave and the routes are marked well ahead of the water line. Read each service below, then browse the process note that follows the list.
Service 01
01Guided Coastal Hikes
The backbone of the bunkhouse. Guided coastal hikes walk the marked coast and cliff routes on the tide that suits the group, so everybody sees the shore at its fullest. Distances run from a gentle two miles to the ten mile Beacon Long Run, and each walk is led by a guide who carries the route cards, first aid, water and the tide board notes. Small groups leave with a briefing on the sand, a kit check on the bench, and a return slot that respects the daylight and the bus timetable.
What makes a guided hike with TND ADVENTURES LTD feel different is the pace. The guide walks at the back of the group, not the front, so nobody is pushed and nobody is left behind. Birdwatching stops are welcome, the geology of the shingle gets a moment, and rain does not cancel a route so much as change the one we choose. Coastal hikes are available through the season and can be booked for a private group of friends at almost any date.

02Family Adventure Days
Family adventure days turn a morning on the coast into a made-for-memory walk with tasks, picnics and a proper finish. Routes stay short and safe, with paddling only at the mapped shallow corner and grown-up crossing points where the group stops and lines up together. Each child receives a route card with stamps to collect at the waymark discs, and there is a small treasure box at the turnaround on selected dates.
The leaders plan with patience in mind. Littler legs rest at the picnic bench, bigger legs run ahead to the next marker and come straight back, and the whole family finishes together under the waymark post for a group photo. You are welcome to bring a pram on the flat Lagoon Loop and a backpack carrier on the Shingle Return. Dates are set on the summer calendar and are deliberately small, so a family does not feel like one more crowd on the sand.
Best for ages four and up on the easy routes; the downland walk suits families with confident walkers.
Service 03
03Corporate Team Expeditions
Away from the meeting room, teams walk, talk and solve small route challenges along the coast. Corporate expeditions blend the calm of the shore with gentle tasks that reward communication more than speed. A team might map a safe crossing, keep a watching group together, or plan a lunch stop that fits the tide. Leaders coach the group rather than race it, and the day closes with a debrief beside the oven at the bunkhouse.
Expeditions can be run as a half day or a full day and are tailored to the size of the team. Everything needed comes from the bunkhouse kit rack, so a business only needs to bring boots and an open mind. These days work well for a new team that has not walked together, or for a senior team that simply needs a slower circle to talk in. Ask at the contact desk and a route will be laid to the team, not the other way around.
Groups of six to twenty walkers; private booking only, not set onto the open calendar.
Service 04
04Cycling Tours
For walkers who prefer two wheels, cycling tours follow the flat seaside and river paths away from the traffic. The route is chosen by the group measure, using the wide promenade, the estuary track and a short quiet-lane link, with regular stops at the bench points. Bicycles can be brought along or hired from the bunkhouse rack list, and a spare pump and repair tin ride in the trailer.
A cycling tour is not a race. The guide sets a rolling pace that holds a conversation, waits at each junction, and keeps the whole string in sight along the shore. Standard rides cover six to fifteen miles and can be finished with a picnic on the shingle. Evening rides that catch the sunset tide are popular in the long summer weeks, when the light runs late toward the water.
Recommended on flat wind mornings; the estuary track suits road and hybrid tyres alike.

05Camping Weekends
A camping weekend with TND ADVENTURES LTD is a small round of tents set behind the dunes, not a festival field. Guests arrive on the Friday evening, meet at the bench, and settle into a pitch that the leaders have already flattened and marked. Saturday holds a guided walk or ride, a shared supper over the fire box, and a quiet night under a wide sky above the shore.
Breakfast is coffee and porridge from the barrel, and the Sunday morning is left free for a slow walk to the water or a lie-in. Basic hire tents and ground sheets are available for those who travel light, and a trailer carries the shared cooking kit. Numbers stay small so the site feels like the bunkhouse porch rather than a campsite, and everyone leaves with sand in the very places they expected it.
Weekends run through the warmer months; a pitched personal tent or a hire tent are both welcome.
Service 06
06Equipment Hire
When the boot needs replacing or the day calls for waterproofs, the hire rack is open at the bunkhouse. Equipment hire covers walking boots, day packs, water bottles, waterproof jackets and trousers, walking poles, child carriers and a small number of bicycles. Every item is checked after each trip, aired on the boot dryer bench, and presented clean and labelled for the next walker.
Hire can be arranged ahead of a guided walk or simply on the day for a self led route. Sizes run wide and the friendly desk staff are glad to fit boots before the group sets out. A deposit covers the rack and is returned when the kit comes back dry and tidy. For the Beacon Long Run, poles and an extra water bladder are free with any two day hire, which saves space in the day pack.
Hire closes one hour before the last guided departure of the day at the bunkhouse.
