1. Agreement to These Terms
By opening any page of this website, by sending an enquiry, or by completing a booking with the Company, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by the separate Privacy Policy that guards your personal information. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please close the page and do not book a service through us.
These terms apply to every route, ride, weekend and hire that the Company arranges, unless a separate written agreement clearly overrides them for a particular corporate or private event. Reading a page of this site or sending a note to the desk does not by itself create a binding contract; a binding contract for a walk is only formed when the Company confirms your booking in writing and you accept that confirmation.
2. About the Company
The entity responsible for these terms operates out of the United Kingdom and can be identified by the details below. Please keep this address beside the route card if you ever need to write to us.
Company name: TND ADVENTURES LTD
Company address: 45 Annweir Avenue, LANCING - BN15 9NE, United Kingdom (GB)
Company email: serve@tndadventures.hair
Company telephone: +14844635222
The company activity covers the guidance of small outdoor groups along marked coastal and downland routes, family activity days, corporate team expeditions, guided cycling, camping weekends and the short-term hire of outdoor equipment near the Lancing shore.
3. The Services We Offer
The Company offers the guided and assisted outdoor experiences that are described in outline on the services page and confirmed in full at the point of booking. Every service is planned around the safety of the group and the honesty of the day, and each one is described so that a walker reserved for today knows what tomorrow holds.
The principal services are listed here so that both sides stand on the same rock.
- Guided coastal hikes along the marked routes set out by the guides, with a leader, first aid and route cards.
- Family adventure days shaped for parents and younger walkers, with short, safe paths and a gentle finish.
- Corporate team expeditions for businesses that want time away from the office on the shore and the downs.
- Cycling tours along the seafront, estuary and quiet-lane paths at a steady, conversational speed.
- Camping weekends with a small group of tents, cooking kit and a shared evening beside the fire box.
- Equipment hire from the bunkhouse rack, covering boots, waterproofs, day packs, poles and some cycles.
Full detail of each service, including the routes and the prices in force on the day of your enquiry, is confirmed before any money changes hands so that there is never a surprise hidden in the small print of the walk.
4. Making a Reservation and Confirmations
To make a reservation you contact the desk through the website, by email, by telephone or in person, and you tell us the service you want, the date and the size of the group. From that note the desk will reply with what is available and the price for the measure you chose.
A reservation is placed when you clearly accept that reply and agree to the terms that apply. A reservation becomes a confirmed booking only when the Company sends you a written confirmation naming the date, the service and the agreed price, and you have either paid any deposit that applies or agreed to be billed as set out on the confirmation.
Because the desk holds small groups to keep walks personal, the number of places on any given day is limited. Confirming early is the certain way to hold a place, and we will always be honest with you if a date is already full.
5. Prices and Payment
The price of each service is shown to you before you confirm, in pounds sterling unless a written agreement says otherwise, and it covers the guided time, the leaders, the insurance the Company carries and the honest labour of preparing the route. Payment of any deposit or full fee may be made by the methods named on the confirmation.
Where VAT or another tax applies at the rate in force, it is added to the price in the way the law requires. The Company may review its prices from season to season, but a price shown to you at the point of confirming a booking will hold for that confirmed booking, and we will tell you plainly if a quoted price ever has to change before you accept it.
If a fee is not paid by the date named on the confirmation, the Company may treat the booking as cancelled, and the ordinary cancellation notices in these terms will apply rather than any silent removal of your place.
6. Cancellation and Return of Fees
The Company hopes every planned walk goes ahead on the day, but the weather, the tide and the needs of a group can change a plan. Both sides hold a considered right to cancel within the limits set out below and a fair return of fees where a booking has to fall away.
By a walker: if you cancel a confirmed booking with more than seven days of notice before the day, the Company will return any fee you have paid minus a small handling cost that is named on the confirmation. If you cancel within seven days of the day, a full or part of the fee may be kept to cover the reserved place and the prepared kit, and the amount kept will be reasonable and explained clearly to you.
By the Company: if the Company cancels because of unsafe weather, a closed route, notice from an authority, or illness within the guiding team, you are offered a full return of any fee paid or a transfer to another open date of equal value. Your choice is respected, and the return is made to the method of payment you used.
7. Weather, Tides and Route Changes
Walking on the coast is a conversation with the tide, and the Company treats the water line with the respect it earns. Routes are chosen against the tide times on the board, and the day runs only when the shore is safe for the group that is walking it.
Where rain, wind or a high spring tide makes the marked route unsafe, the guides may change the route for another marked route of equal rank, shorten the walk, move it to a sheltered time, or cancel it under the notice in the cancellation section. A route change is made for safety, never for speed, and a decision to turn around early is never treated as a fault by either side.
You agree to follow the reasonable safety directions of the guide on the day, including any instruction to stay away from the water edge, to keep the group together, or to take the inland path when the shingle turns slick. Following these directions keeps the whole group dry and glad of the day.
8. Fitness, Health and Suitability of a Walker
Each route is described with a grade so that a walker can judge whether it suits them. Easy routes are flat and short, moderate routes add gentle climbing, and full-day routes expect a walker who can comfortably cover the miles with a break for lunch. You confirm, by booking a route, that you are in reasonable health for the grade you have chosen and that you will tell the guide of anything that could affect your safety during the walk.
Where you share a health note, the guide uses it only to keep you safe and comfortable, and it is treated with the privacy and the care described in the Privacy Policy. You are never obliged to expose a private matter, but where a condition could matter on the water line you are asked to keep the desk informed so that the day can be planned properly.
Children walk with their parent or a named responsible adult, and the easy family routes are the natural ground for younger walkers. The Company may ask a group to step down to an easier route where the measure of the walk does not seem to match the group on the day.
9. Kit, Clothing and Equipment Hire
The Company provides the leadership, first aid, route cards and the shared safety kit that each walk needs. A walker provides personal footwear and clothing that suits the weather of the season, unless kit has been hired from the rack, and the guide runs a kit check on the bench before the group leaves.
Equipment hired from the Company is checked, aired and cleaned between trips, and it is handed to you on the condition that it comes back dry, complete and undamaged. Ordinary wear from a fair day on the shore is expected and accepted. Damage caused by misuse or neglect may be charged, and the charge is limited to the value of the item less the fair wear it had already known.
If hired kit does not fit or does not suit the route once the day begins, tell the guide at the first stop and we will do what we can to make the day comfortable, including switching to a spare where one is carried.
10. Liability and Acknowledgment of Risk
Walking on shingle, cliff paths and tidal ground is a natural pursuit that carries an ordinary level of risk, and a small part of that risk can never be removed by the most careful guide. By joining a walk you acknowledge that you understand this and that you will walk within the measure of your own strength and the direction of the guide.
The Company accepts responsibility for harm caused by negligence on its part in the preparation and leadership of a walk. The Company does not seek to remove the rights that the law gives you, and nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Company, or for any matter the law does not allow a service to limit.
Where the Company is liable to you for a loss arising in connection with a booking or the use of this site, the Company total liability is limited to the full sum you paid for that booking, which is a fair measure of the value of the service at stake.
11. Insurance the Company Carries
The Company carries insurance that covers the ordinary running of its guided outdoor services, including the public liability that a careful walking business expects to hold for the safety of its guests and the public. The existence of the cover is a comfort; it is not a promise that every imaginable event is insured, and it does not add rights beyond those that the law and these terms already give you.
You are encouraged to hold your own insurance where you want cover for personal belongings that you choose to bring, for travel to the meeting point, or for a personal cancellation that falls outside the circumstances the Company can fairly make good. The Company does not sell such personal travel cover itself.
A copy of the insurance summary is available to a corporate client at the point of booking, so that a business team can satisfy its own requirements before the group sets out.
12. Conduct of Walkers and Groups
A day on the shore goes well when every walker treats the route, the wildlife and the other members of the group with the same care the guide shows. Each member of a group agrees to keep the group together, to stay on the marked path where it is closed to us, to follow the shoreline rules of the day, and to leave the shingle and the tide plain exactly as it was found.
Litter is carried home, dogs are only brought where the route and the other members agree beforehand and the animal is kept on a lead near stock, and loud music stays at the bunkhouse rather than on the water line. Where a member of a group behaves in a way that puts the group at risk or spoils the day for others, the guide may ask that person to leave the walk, and in such a case no part of the fee is returned because the day was given a fair chance.
In a corporate setting, the named contact on the confirmation is responsible for sharing the appropriate pages of these terms with each member of the team before the expedition begins.
13. Photography and Media
The Company sometimes photographs a day to share on its own pages, but only where a clear marker of the day tells you a photograph may be taken and where any walker who prefers to stay out of the frame says so before the shot is composed. Nobody is pushed into a picture, and a request to step aside is always honoured without comment.
Where a separate agreement is given for a photograph of a child, it is used strictly within the written limits of that agreement and it is removed without delay on request to the desk. Trip photographers work for the Company and keep the same privacy promises that bind the rest of the team.
Images shared publicly never name a private individual without their clear agreement, and a group is described by its nature rather than by the names of its members unless the members choose to be named.
14. Use of the Website and Its Content
This website is made available to give you honest information about walks, routes and the business, and you may read it freely and share its pages in the ordinary way. The text, the drawn motifs, the route stamps and the general look of the site are owned by or licensed to the Company and the developer TNDAdventures, and they are protected by copyright law.
You agree not to use this site in a way that overloads the servers, gathers personal information about other visitors without their agreement, interferes with the pages for others, or takes material from the site to rebuild a competing business. Fair and scholarly quotation with a clear mention of the source is welcome; wholesale copying for another commercial site is not.
The pages on this site are intended for accurate and current reading, but they are gathered with care rather than guaranteed. The Company will correct an evident error quickly once it is told at the desk.
15. Information Given With Care Rather Than as a Promise
Descriptions of routes, distances, times and wildlife on this site are given as a guide gathered by the people who walk them, and every care is taken to keep them true. Because the coast changes with the tide and the season, a description is a hand-drawn map rather than a machine-made guarantee.
The Company does not promise that the site, or any link it carries, will be free from error, available at every moment, or suited to your particular purpose. The site is provided for honest everyday use, and the Company draws your attention to the limits on its liability in the section above rather than promising a trouble that can never be promised away.
Where a map provider or another linked service gives different ground truth from our own pages, the safe line for the day is set by the guide who stands on the shore with the route card in hand.
16. Changes to These Terms
The pages of these terms may be updated from time to time so that they stay accurate with the services, the seasons and the law. Where a change is a meaningful shift in the agreement between us, the date at the top of this page is refreshed and, for material changes, a note is drawn to the attention of anyone who reads the site.
Terms that apply to a booking you have already confirmed are the terms in force on the day your booking was confirmed, unless both sides agree in writing to a different arrangement. Terms that apply to the general reading of the website are the terms set out on the current dated page.
You are welcome to watch this page, and the Company is glad to answer a question about any sentence you find hard to follow. A small knot untied at the desk is better than a week of confusion on the shore.
17. Governing Law and Settling a Dispute
These terms and any booking that sits beneath them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have the ordinary authority to decide a matter where the law gives them that role. That is the natural law of the country where the Company keeps its doors and its boots.
Before any matter goes to a court, both sides are asked to make a fair attempt to settle it through a calm conversation at the desk. The Company answers every note with care, and most differences of opinion rest on a route card or a date that can be put right with a short exchange. Where a written complaint seeks a return of a fee, it is considered fairly against the cancellation notices in these terms.
Nothing in this section stops you from raising a concern with the appropriate authority, or from protecting a right that the law of your own country gives you where you walk with us within that country.
18. Contacting Us
If a sentence above leaves you with a question, or if you wish to raise a matter about a booking, the desk is open and reaches easily. The Company number, the sign at the foot of every page and the note below all lead to the same people who lay the route cards on the table.
Company name: TND ADVENTURES LTD
Company address: 45 Annweir Avenue, LANCING - BN15 9NE, United Kingdom (GB)
Company email: serve@tndadventures.hair
Company telephone: +14844635222
The developer and technical contact for the pages is TNDAdventures. A note sent to the desk is read, answered and, where it asks for a change to a booking, acted upon with the same good humour the shore deserves.
